I thought of going back (to see my parents), but the cold winter in Hangzhou is just too much for me. So, I will wait until spring.

A few years ago, a senior colleague came to the US around the Chinese New Year. I was puzzled: "Why not staying home (in China) for such a big (Chinese) holiday?" She replied: "Too much social activities."

Well, this year I have seen three colleagues here in Hawaii, and there may be more. They are using the holidays in China to come work here as short-term visitors. I hope they will do more than research.
