I ran out of questions for my "private" trainer, so I decided to take a private lesson on iPhoto. I learned a bit of iPhoto during my last visit, and I figured a private lesson should be better for me than a group one that lasts 90 mins. (Hey, I am a quick learner.)
Even at 4 pm, the sun over Hawaii was brutal. Luckily, it's a very short walk to the Apple store. Today's trainer is really good at teaching. (Later on, I found out that he used to teach community colleges. No wodner!)
Here is my note on iPhoto.
Merge two folders (click a folder and drag it to the other folder) and rename the folder to reflect the event (click to rename);
Split a folder to two (click the first one for the new event, and go to menu "Events" and choose split);
Create a new event from a few chosen photos in a folder (click one photo, hold Command key, and continue clicking; then let go of both hands; go to menu "Events" and choose create);
Next steps: create albums to show off my good shots, and then make books and calendars, greeting cards, etc.
I thought that was enough for me to play with for the next month and half while I will be in China. (I wonder if the Apple store in China will honor my one-to-one package.)
Since this lesson was one-hour long, I wanted to learn more tricks. Noah told me that he is lazy, and therefore uses two-finger click a lot, including spelling check. You should try it, too. (I have gradually picking up some tricks while using Mac daily, often accidentally discovering a trick or two.)
Finally, Noeh taught me how to take advantage of Command + z (to recover whatever is lost due to last action).
Gosh, I was so pleased with Noah, and felt I made a great choice of purchasing one-to-one package.
ps. I complained about yahoo email ad. Noah helped me to fix my Mac mail, so I can avoid using yahoo web mail. The only thing that Mac mail does not do is google phone; so I still need to sign in Gmail to call...
