Dishwasher no more

There was a dishwasher in my first house in Maryland, but I used it as a storage place and only ran it once in a blue moon to prevent clogging (as instructed). Why didn't I use it? I thought it was a waste of electricity and water.
As I became busier, I was glad to have a dishwasher at home. It saved my time and my backache. I was no longer concerned about water, because the instruction said dishwasher uses less water than washing dishes by hands. I used it daily, and finally it grew tired of me after seven years and quit working properly two days ago.
I just replaced my washer/dryer, so I don't really want to have any big unplanned expenses, such as buying a new dishwasher. The average life of a dishwasher is about 10 years. Mine is seven years old. Repair is expensive (compare to the cost of a new one). So, I try to think "positively." I always blamed the dishwasher for my weight gain, now I can lose a few pounds without its help. We will see how long I can last without a helping hand
