It's difficult for me to say that I prefer to live away from my birth place, with the West Lake, but I do. This is because when I look out of my windows (on the 21st floor), all I can see is smog.
I am a meteorologist (MS), so I know today's "fog" is not fog due to high humidity. In fact, it's dry enough to line-dry clothes. The traffic in Hangzhou is getting worse, and it's very hard to find a taxi--even though the city has started a taxi-pool practice. (I know I am part of the problem, because I should take buses. I visit Hangzhou for a week or less each time; I still haven't learned how to get from Point A to Point B, if it's longer than 10 minute's walk.)
