死螃蟹 (The Dead Crab)

A rosy shield upon his back,
That not the hardest storm could crack,
From whose sharp edge projected out
The long black eyes staring about;
Beneath, the well-knit cote-armure
That gave to its weak belly power;
The clustered legs with plated joints
That ended in stiletto points;
The claws like mouths it held outside;
I cannot think this creature died
By storm or fish or sea-fowl harmed
Walking the sea so heavily armed;
Or does it make for death to be
Oneself a living armoury?
大红铠甲背上挂,
狂风巨浪亦不怕,
铠甲边缘伸硬针,
两粒豆眼瞪老大。
腹下护甲精织工,
软腹有恃便无恐,
八腿攒动节节硬,
腿脚顶端匕首凶。
巨螯如口大开张,
负重蹈海气昂昂,
不惧鱼鳖藐风浪,

噫!作“铠”自缚貌凶狂,
岂知步步趋灭亡!
