在咨询稿件是否适合Annals of Botany投稿时，我附上了在我博客里的科普链接，没想到AoB的主编Heslop-Harrison, Pat教授很感兴趣，他认为我的植物学科普做的不错，打算把我的博客作为AoB官方博客的一个链接，他表示还会在Facebook上推介，只可惜中国大陆上不了Facebook。

AoB的主编Heslop-Harrison教授还提到一个不容乐观的事实，虽然国际知名植物学刊物Annals of Botany（《植物学年鉴》）上发表的中国人的论文以及期刊论文的中国学者的下载量居世界前四位，但遗憾的是很少有中国的学者浏览或注册AoB的博客，这就反映出了一个事实，我们或许太注重研究本身，而对研究成果的传播缺乏相对应有的意识和责任感。AoB的主编对中文好像很了解的样子，这点十分让我敬佩。他在http://www.scoop.it/t/annbot 网站上把我的科学网博客介绍的有声有色，如他认为如果把“这次长三角植物学研讨会（The Yangtze River Delta botany seminar）”翻译成英文，估计会有很多人感兴趣。我看了一下scoop网站上一些报道，大多来自著名的网站如PNAS、ScienceNews、the-scientist、Youtube、wired、newscientist和sciencedaily等国际知名站点，科学网（sciencenet）和我的博文是首次出现的新面孔。

Heslop-Harrison教授同时还邀请我做为他们的客座博客，依据的是知识共享-姓名标示-非商业性质（CC-By-NC）的版权保护协议。我很乐意的接受了他的邀请，这对我的英文写作是机会也是挑战。同时我表示以后撰写植物学科普方面的文章会尽量介绍中国人的工作，因为虽然有些研究人员做出了很有趣的工作，但由于语言障碍并不能被国外同行所了解。在此我向自己保证，以后只要是有趣的、重要的研究，无论作者是谁，单位是什么，有没有基金资助，发表的期刊是什么，我都会尽力介绍给国外同行专家。而这种努力关注的只是科学本身，对是不是“重大成果”和发表的刊物尽量不作无谓的考量，如在植物学研究方面，我国的《西北植物学报》、《植物生态学报》、《植物遗传资源学报》和《植物分类与资源学报》等都是不错的刊物，其中发表的我国学者有趣的工作值得推荐。

I am very happy to see your blog http://blog.sciencenet.cn/u/gaojianguo and congratulations on such an enormous contribution to science popularization with 350,000 accesses. I have put the reference onto the www.AoBBlog.com social media pages (will be published tonight), and it has gone onto http://www.scoop.it/t/annbot and our Facebook feed https://www.facebook.com/AnnalsOfBotany. However, I am sorry to say that we do not have much interaction with AoBBlog.com from China. At the Annals of Botany Journal, China is consistently in the top four countries for location of authors of our papers, numbers of downloads of papers etc., but sadly we don’t see many accesses or subscriptions to the feeds from China with the blog. It looks that some of your botany papers, conference reviews and commentaries about people on  http://blog.sciencenet.cn/u/gaojianguo cover a similar range of content to us.

We would very much like to invite you to contribute to AoBBlog.com as a guest blogger. Our blogs are of similar range of lengths, topics, and with illustrations like your posts, obviously in English (we are happy to do some English editing) and it would be great to feature your writing.
