在我的印象中，中国人修养的最高境界之一是不被外物影响心情。比如“喜怒不形于色”（虽然这个负面评价比较多）。它的一个基础是理解事物发生的原因。一个小女孩可能会因为从板凳上摔下来而怪罪板凳。但是，一个成熟的人不会因为外在环境而改变自己的心情。儒释道三家都是如此。佛家讲究因果报应，道家讲究法天地，儒家也始终是以积极的态度做事的。

但是，前几天看了一段圣经，发现耶稣竟然会哭泣。原文如下（摘自Jhon 第11章):

³² When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”

³³ When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.³⁴ “Where have you laid him?” he asked.

“Come and see, Lord,” they replied.

³⁵ Jesus wept.

³⁶ Then the Jews said, “See how he loved him!”

³⁷ But some of them said, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?”

³⁸ Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance.³⁹ “Take away the stone,” he said.

“But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.”

⁴⁰ Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”

⁴¹ So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.⁴² I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”

⁴³ When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”⁴⁴ The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.

Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”

这里的耶稣是最接近耶和华的人。但是，他竟然会哭泣。实在让人想不通。如果他不是装的话，或许表明他是一个虽然有各种神通，但是却不知世事的小伙子。 相比之下，时时刻刻比较欢快同时又非常稳重的孔子，真是智慧的象征。

最后以孔子的一件小事做结尾：

孔子向来不谈论鬼神，但是当他生病需要鬼神的时候，立马祷告。我喜欢这样的生活态度。聪明，甚至带点狡黠。
