I was trying to watch two old movies simultaneously on TV last night (one, The American President, I have seen many times over decades but want to re-live the expereince since it was one of my favorite, the other, Grantorino, I have not seen before).by swtiching back and forth between two channels. However, I was not entirely successful because I missed the important ending of the second movie that I have not seen before by staying too long watching the ending of the first one. This was annoying!. However, modern technology comes to the rescue. I simply went to my computer and googled "the story of the movie, Grandtorino". Immediately a summary of the movie came up including the ending. Imagine if this was one technology generation ago, such feat which we take for granted today would be unthinkable. I also seriously doubt that consulting the best encyclopedia in print at that time would find the answer to this question. I just cannot help but be impressed by such instant availability of information of all kinds in the comfort of your own home. We experience "future shock" everyday of our lives!
