 This holiday season our family is having a big reunion here in Lexington, MA. Everyone came here so that we two old grandparents do not have to travel during this pandemic. This plus the fact our eldest daughter has moved back to Lexington to be near us made the location choice obvious https://blog.sciencenet.cn/home.php?mod=space&uid=1565&do=blog&id=1305945 . We also have a new addition to the family, our grandson-in-law whom I had occasions to mention in the past when he was only future grandson-in-law https://blog.sciencenet.cn/blog-1565-1232463.html, https://blog.sciencenet.cn/blog-1565-1201911.html, https://blog.sciencenet.cn/blog-1565-1201911.html  . However, the best Christmas presents my wife and I received this year is a sonogram picture of the womb of our married grand daughter containing a miniature growing baby. Yes, by July 2022 we shall have the traditional Chinese honor of “four generation under one roof” – a feat seldom equaled in olden times. Of course strict Chinese custom will also point our that this is a lesser honor since the future great grandchild won’t even be carrying the family name. However, in the US such strict family custom is not observed.  In any case, I consider my wife and I are extremely blessed. We also take this occasion to sent our holiday greeting to all readers of ScienceNet China as well as our friend all over the world.
