2009年1月20日文章正式投稿给JPCA，说实话这篇文章我没有十分的把握。因为亮点不突出。我让学生按照我的意见修改，可是学生没有那样做。学生是其他老师的学生，我也没办法。

2009年2月25日收到文章的修改意见：

“Your manuscript has come back from the three reviewers to whom it was sent for examination, and their comments are enclosed.  They suggest modification of the paper in a number of places.  Please make the revisions as recommended by the reviewers. We would appreciate your letting us have a letter outlining the changes that have been made.”

三个审稿人的意见：

Reviewer: 1

Recommendation: This paper is not recommended because it does not provide new physical insights.
“In my view the paper is not suitable for publication in the Journal of Physical Chemistry A in its present form. Although the experimental data look satisfactory, and the discussion and conclusions of the paper appear reasonable, in my view there is simply not enough new material presented in the manuscript to make it of general interest to Journal readers.“......

Reviewer: 2

Recommendation: This paper is publishable subject to minor revisions noted.  Further review is not needed.
Comments: ......

Reviewer: 3

Recommendation: This paper is probably publishable, but should be reviewed again in revised form before it is accepted.

象我预想的一样，审稿人也提出了与我一样的问题。审稿人还是很公正地指出了文章的不足，但第一个审稿人的意见在我们目前的实验条件下很难实现。我就如实地回答我们目前做不了他提的实验。

2009年3月12日我们把修改后的文章返回给编辑部。

2009年3月16日收到这篇文章的最后决定：

Dear Dr. Yin:

Congratulations; your Article has been accepted for publication in The Journal of Physical Chemistry  A.

You should receive galley proofs in approximately 3-5 weeks, and your manuscript should be published on the Web in 4-6 weeks and in a print issue in 8-10 weeks.

Should you happen to be away during that period, you might assign one of your collaborators to do the proofreading for you.  Once a manuscript appears on the Web, it is considered published. Any change to the manuscript will then need to be submitted to the journal office as an Addition or Correction.

2009年3月27日收到文章校样的通知；2009年4月8日收到文章在线发表的通知。

总之，这篇文章发表的历程很标准。一般来说，JPCA是采纳两个审稿人的意见，如果都是不接受发表就据掉了。如果一个同意发表，而另一个不同意，就会采纳第三个审稿人的意见。推荐审稿人需要一些技巧，我以前推荐审稿人的时候知道他们也在做类似的工作就推荐了，但没有想到第一个审稿人目前也在做这个体系。从这篇文章的投稿过程我认识到推荐审稿人适当地回避一些竞争者是有必要的。

PS: 我愿意把我遇到的情况告诉给大家，你就可以少走弯路。这是我所希望的。

写回复信需要对第一个审稿人作出response，尽管他/她可能看不到。但是编辑是会看到的，并且也能够影响文章的最后决定。仔细、认真回复审稿人的意见，相信你的文章问题不大。
