With the gradual gestation in the long process of history and human beings development, Beijing was a wonderful city, which brought lasting enthusiasm and produced splendid cultures. From the history perspectives, it was the core of policy, economy, military affairs and cultures for thousands years during the alternation of many dynasties in China, which is the capital of China and the centre of the whole nation in policy and culture nowadays. As far as the world is concerned, it is one of the six ancient capitals and important historical-cultural city.

 

I was born in Beijing and have been living here for 22 years. More than one time, strolling in the Imperial Palace, I touch the parti-colored wall of the Forbidden City, feel its existence and present my deep respects. I prefer rambling over on the bank of Shicha Sea and wandering among the labyrinthine bystreets to enjoy the unique quiet and to apperceive the vital spark of Beijing.

 

Beijing, as my hometown, is a city with vigor and legends. I am so lucky that I can live and study in this wonderful city. Not only do I unfold my emotion to it and present my enthusiasm and love for it, but also I take advantage of my life and progress to testify its development and history.

 

In my opinion, Beijing is a beautiful city for its elegance and magnificence. There are a total of thousands of historical and relic sites among which some are classified as national cultural heritages. When we visit the resplendent and magnificent temples in awestruck mood, and face the royal shrines and holy altars folded by augustness, moreover, wander among the flexuose alleyway, on the quiet boulevard and the busy streets, all the time, we can feel and comprehend the long history and glamorous art and cultures.

 

As for me, Beijing is never a foppish city. The appearance of it, with the rise and fall of civilization, has been changed through the alternations of dynasties, progress of eras continually. History left behind a lot of treasures such as temples, mottled coloured glaze tiles and many once vermeil gates besides pieces of blurry characters and bygone stories about this city.

 

Today, Beijing is full of enthusiasm. In the colorful city, history and reality, foretime and now, antiquity and modernization complect with each other perfectly although they are complicated and varying, which make this old city coruscate unlimited lifeblood. It is developing at a surprising speed with demonstrating its power and charm.

 

I hold the point that you will be crazy for this city and fall in love with it no matter whether you have lived in Beijing for a long time or come here for the first time. Maybe you visit it on purpose or only have a drop in hurry, not only shall your heart and soul be convulsed by its charm, but also own oriental spirit would be preserved in your memories for a life time.

 

The same to me, all the people living in Beijing feel deeply the tremendous changes occurred and happening in it. The sky of it is becoming much cleaner and the rivers are more limpid than before. On the other hand, with the continuous efforts, it is more and more beautiful and modern, for example, the roads are wider and the buildings are higher. Nowadays, Beijing is opening up its gate and warmly inviting the people coming from all over the world to Beijing for having an amused travel and a visit, which is a common record about the development of it.

 

These days, Beijing is an entire unit composed of tradition and modernity, with the amalgamation of Siheyuan and skyscrapers and the like. Here, many people with knowledge and capabilities are contributing their energy to the construction of Beijing and working hard to build it into a historical but modern city. Furthermore, here, the civilization of Cathay is walking up to world attracting more attentions of people around the world.

 

In my eyes, I intend to think that Beijing will have a more splendid tomorrow and attain much more achievements, in the meantime, the civilization of China will obtain the cheers of the whole world, and furthermore, China will stand on the place of sunrise--the orient of the world.

 

Beijing is the summit of a great civilization and I love it!
