I saw “Education Studies offers only seminar format courses in order to know our students well and create a strong academic cohort of educational innovators and leaders.” from Yale University’s official net, so I want to experience the seminar format courses and to be one of the educational innovators and leaders. I am planning to continue my studies and research as a visiting scholar at Yale University, U.S.A.

My background has something dramatic. I wanted to be an all-round development student when studying in middle school; therefore, I decided to study science although I was good at liberal arts. When I graduated from high school, I wanted to study in a Medical University and to be a doctor, but I was enrolled in Henan Normal University due to little instruction on how to fill the examinee’s aspiration form. I didn't like my majority mathematics at first; however, I took great trouble to make myself realize that to be a teacher is more important than a doctor. Doctor cures illness when people are ill, but teacher can prevent the students from being ill through science knowledge. After four years training, I became a teacher.

I went to study in Capital Normal University after 10 years teaching Mathematics in a high school in order to solve the questions I met beyond my capabilities. It was during these three years that I gained believe and courage on how to be a better mathematics teacher. Meanwhile, I realized all the students should grow up happily, and learn the knowledge arranged for them gladly. I was then ready for studying all my life, being a lifelong learner, and never criticizing but directing each of my students. I have two clear ideas; one is keeping the students’ personality, the other is giving the students happy memories whenever they recall their high school life.

I went back to teach mathematics again after getting a master’s degree. During these 9 years, I learned not only how to protect the students’ desire for knowledge but also how to live happily all my life. I have been enjoying both life and work, growing flowers, reading educational books , watching video curriculums on Internet, publishing a dozen papers and writing informal blog essays in my spare time.

I took part in the entrance exam for doctor degree candidates of Shaanxi Normal University in 2012, and now I am studying in School of Education. During these short two months, I have heard of much educational information about the US; I know there is much difference between China and America. I also realize that I am standing at a new starting line; I have no idea about so much change in the world, so I want to see the reality in foreign countries. My career future plan is to write books to share my experience with people.

Loving is the best teacher; I have great potential to search something interesting and valuable in education, for I love my students.
