报告摘要:
Using scanning tunneling microscope to investigate the chemical reactions occurring at metal surface, it gives us the opportunity to see the chemical reaction in real-space with single molecule resolution, as well the underlying catalysis. Our current aims of this research:
1. High resolution imaging on organic chemical bond dissociation and formation processes, particularly in controlling such chemical processes by catalysis.
2. Exploring molecular electronic properties precisely mediated by chemical modification at molecular level.
3. Synthesizing 1D or 2D polymers at surfaces, and exploring their applications.
4. Exploring inorganic material surface to play catalytic roles on chemical processes.
报告人简介:
Dr. Hong-ying Gao is currently a young group leader at Prof. Fuchs group in Muenster. He graduated from University of Science and Technology of China in 2005 and received his bachelor degree (optics department). Then, he joined Prof. Hou group (advisor: Prof. Zhenchao Dong) and received his doctor degree of chemistry in 2011. Since August 2011, he has joined Prof. Harald Fuchs group and received the Alexander Humboldt Fellowship. His research interest is in the field of the various physical and chemical processes at surfaces, particularly based on STM, LEED, XPS, Spectroscopy, SNOM (near field microscopy) and so on (surface analytical techniques). He has published 14 papers, 1 in nature photonics, 1 in Angew. Chem. (Cover story), 1 in JACS, and other international journals (JPCC, APL, PRB and so on).
