Optoelectronic materials constitute the building blocks for most of today’s devices. With the miniaturization of dimension of key elements in nowadays optoelectronic devices, traditional fabrication route is confronted with difficulties. The bottom-up approach to functional optoelectronic devices by using nanomaterials as the building blocks emerges as a viable alternative. The development of nanomaterials presents us more possibilities to explore new materials properties, due to their unique structural sensitivity to optical and electronic signals. Interesting optoelectronic properties have been widely studied in various nanomaterials and nanostructures, and have led to a wide range of applications in solar cells (photovoltaic), photodetectors (photoconductivity), light-emitting diodes (LEDs), photocatalysis, optical fibers, field emitters, lasers, photoluminescence (PL), and so on.
This special issue is devoted to all topics related to optoelectronic nanomaterials and devices. Both experimental and theoretical works are welcome.
