1、Worth one’s salt(worth one’s salt means deserving what one earns; efficient and capable; worthy of respect or being so called; deserving of one's wages or salary;good at one's job):称职、得力, 理所应得、名副其实、一分钱一分货、胜任的、称职的、名副其实的
如果士兵英勇奋战,就说 worth his salt ,如果士兵畏缩不前,就说 not worth his salt。

You have to take everything she says with apinch of salt. She has a tendency to exaggerate.
3、Above the salt
Salt(盐)
When I entered the banquet hall, they all stood up and asked me to sit above the salt.
4、the Salt of the Earth由“世上的盐(地球上最稀有贵重的东西)”引申为“诚实善良的人们,社会上各类人中最高尚、最好的那一类,高尚的人,社会中坚,人类精华。(A person or group considered as the best or noblest part of society.)”
据《新约·马太福音》第5章第13节记载:耶酥对他的门徒说:“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith should it be salted ?”(“你们是世上的盐。 后来 the salt of the earth 成为一典故性成语。
