I'm glad to take part in the FIT 6th Asian Translators' Forum in Macao SAR, China, 6-8 November 2010 and present my research project about " Source Language Shining Through in Translational Language".
The FIT Asian Translators' Forum is an international conference and a significant event in the Asian regional translation community. It's held every three years under the auspices of the International Federation of Translators/Fédération Internationale des Traducteurs(FIT).
Its theme is "Translation and Intercultural Communication: Past, Present and Future " and 300 scholars and translators/interpreters show up, offering a lot of topics about the following subtopics:
1) Translation and cross-cultural studies;
2) Translation history and culture in Macao and Asia;
3) Tourism translation and media translation;
4) Diplomatic translation/interpreting;
5) Business and legal translation/interpreting;
6) Literary translation;
7) Translation teachin and translator training;
8) Translation technology and publishing.
My reflections on this conference:
1, Be Large in the number of the participants;
2, Variety in the themes;
3, New ideas and enlightenment.
