I wrote about life under the pandemic earlier in http://blog.sciencenet.cn/home.php?mod=space&uid=1565&do=blog&id=1256416 . Now a whole year (2020) has gone by. Here are some reflections I have
· It has been a very eventful year. Among others, I survive a serious non-Covid related illness from end of January to beginning of April this past year. These and other memorable are recorded in the following blogs: http://blog.sciencenet.cn/blog-1565-1228030.html

· We did not get together with other 12 immediate family members for a whole year due to the pandemic.
· But we discovered the beauty of Zoom which allowed us to meet once per week face-to-face.
· We did not eat out in restaurants for a whole year except “take outs”.
· We did not travel anywhere by air or car except to our summer house in New Hampshire a few times.
· Without small children in the household, my wife and I survived remarkably well for the whole year – still healthy and engaged.
· Many of our younger friends in Lexington helped us with grocery and Chinatown shopping. Thus, we seldom need to venture out into stores or in public.
· We have not been to a movie theater for at least one year. The movie industry has permanently changed. New movies are now watched via streaming in the comforts of home on large screen TV sets. I wonder what will happen to all the multiplex movie theaters currently existing. These building structures will be dinosaurs.
We are grateful for all the good things in life and whatever remaining days we have
