Chen Rujun was born in Guizhou, China, in 1973. He received the B.S. degree in applied geophysics, with specialization in geophysical instrumentation, from the Central South University of Technology, Changsha, China, in 1996, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in geo-exploration and information science, with specialization in geophysical instrumentation and digital signal processing, from Central South University (CSU), Changsha, China, in 1999 and 2003, respectively.
From 2004 to 2007, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Postdoctoral Station of Control Science and Engineering, CSU, Changsha, where he was responsible for the development of a smart instrument system for electrical and electromagnetic exploration in applied geophysics. From 2008 to present, he has been a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Postdoctoral Station of Computer Science, CSU, and the Bureau of Geophysical Prospection, China National Petroleum Corporation, where he has been responsible for the development of the electromagnetic exploration system for hydrocarbon exploration. In 2003, he joined the School of Info-physics and Geomatics Engineering, CSU, where he has been an Associate Professor of geo-exploration and information science since 2005. His current research interests are high precision data acquisition system for exploration geophysics, magnetic and electrical field sensors for geophysical application, and geophysical signal processing.
He is the author or coauthor of more than 50 papers in the field of geophysical instrumentation.
Dr. Chen is a member of the IEEE Instrumentation and measurement society, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Communication Society, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, Chinese Geophysical Society, and the China Instrument and Control Society.
