I was pretty frustrated after installing the Ubuntu on my Macbook Pro as dual boot system, because my Apple Wireless Magic Mouse/Keyboard cannot be paired with bothOS, i.e., when they were paired with macOS, they lost the pairing after rebooting to Ubuntu, and verse vise.
After almost half a day’s search, I finally got a solution to perfectly solve out the problem.
1. Pair the devices to Ubuntu.
2. Pair the devices to macOS.
3. Under macOS, in the terminal, run: sudo defaults read/private/var/root/Library/Preferences/blued.plist, write down the MAC and linkkeys for each device.
4. Under Ubuntu, go to thedirectory /var/lib/bluetooth/XXXXX, inwhich XXXXX represents a folder named after the machine’s bluetoothMAC.
5. For each device to be paired, there will be a directory named after that device’s MAC. Go to the directory, there will be a file named “info”. Replace the linkkeys in this file with the linkkeys found in the macOS. Do this process for each device.
6. Reboot and enjoy.
I am running Ubuntu 16.04 and macOS Sierra 10.12.
