即将“南巡”：访问衣阿华州立大学和约翰迪尔
我曾写过博文介绍了中国首批赴美留学学习农业工程的20人，其中10人就在我现在访学的明尼苏达大学学习农业工程（偏重农机），另外10人在衣阿华州立大学（Iowa State University）学习农业工程（农艺）。为探寻农业工程前辈当年的求学足迹，打算方便时“南巡”，前往位于St Paul南边Ames的衣阿华州立大学访问交流。顺便也去农机装备制造巨头约翰迪尔公司参观学习。
衣阿华州立大学的农业与生物系统工程系在全美列前几位，很多的研究处于国际领先地位。经过导师、朋友介绍以及我自己的联系，已经确定要拜访十余位相关的专家教授。主要到农业与生物工程系和食品系参观学习。约翰迪尔公司是农业机械领域的领头羊，其产品遍及全球，无处不在。在中国的天津、佳木斯（已经参观）和宁波都建有公司和工厂。其生产的拖拉机、联合收获机等不仅性能卓越，外观也很出众。因明天要起早乘坐灰狗（Greyhound）赶路，在此不多说，等参观回来后再详细介绍。参观交流的行程附后，参照执行。

Take Greyhound at 12:30am to leave Ames for St Paul. We will arrive in St Paul at 5am.
