Many Chinese editors are hard to decide how to write the names of deceased authors or editorial members. If it is published in Chinese, usually the names of the deceased persons are blackly framed. But it is published in Engish, how to deal with it?
I read a web artilce about How To Write the Names
of Deceased Persons which introduced in detail how to deal with this issue in different situations.
According to the suggestions, as for how to write the deceased authors in the author list, I think it can be written as this:
Peter Bernard (1940-2015)
adding the years of their life after their name. It seems this way is better than writing as
Peter Bernard (deceased). At least it makes one feel better while reading the article.
In fact, the same way to list the person's life years after the name is used in many Chinese publications.
