帝国大厦上的难忘恋情－An affair to remember

在世界贸易中心之前，纽约的帝国大厦曾经是纽约离天堂最近的地方。电影《金玉盟》结尾时Deborah Kerr的动人台词说：I was looking up. It was the nearest thing to Heaven, and you were there。
《金玉盟》－An affair to remember
当中国人在进行疯狂的反右运动的时候，美国人在为Cary Grant和Deborah Kerr在《金玉盟》中的爱情故事而如醉如痴。1957年的电影《金玉盟》（An Affair to emember）被认为是一百年来最动人的好莱坞浪漫故事之一，讲的是Cary Grant饰演的花花公子在轮船上邂逅Deborah Kerr饰演的舞厅女歌手，相约如果彼此有意就在6个月以后在帝国大厦天台上相见而又好事多磨的爱情故事。
张玉国兄在他的《世上只有China Town》博文中说纽约的帝国大厦曾出现在《西雅图夜未眠》中，那是汤姆·汉克斯和梅格·瑞恩最后相会的地方，所以他对此颇有好感。其实《西雅图夜未眠》中的两个主人公是在模仿《金玉盟》中的男女主角，所以才相约在纽约帝国大厦上相见。
张玉国兄的这篇博文，勾起了我对《金玉盟》（An Affair to emember）这个动人电影的记忆。电影中那首主题曲An Affair to emember总是让人荡气回肠。

《西雅图未眠夜》
Sleepless in seattle是1993年的一部怀旧型的爱情影片。其中翻唱了As Time Goes By这首Casablanca中的老歌和When I Fall in Love这首老歌。我不太喜欢Celline Dion咬牙切齿地唱的本来非常温柔的When I Fall in Love，1957年Nat King Cole的男声演唱其实更为温柔动人。在1994年的时候我去去买了一套精美的When I Fall in Love的曲谱，送给某个我喜欢的女孩。现在想来，就像在梦里一样。

《金玉盟》的不同版本
1957年的An Affaair to Remember其实是1939年的电影Love Affair的翻拍，情节和台词变化很少。翻拍片中最为动人的正是新加的那首An Affaair to Remember歌曲。1994年Warren Beatty又和他刚结婚的太太Annette Benning又翻拍了一遍love Affair。据说印度宝莱坞在1999年也拍了一部情节基于An Affair to Remember的歌舞故事片，当然故事是发生在印度的大城市。
什么时候也许中国人也会以金茂大厦为背景拍一个类似的爱情故事。不要忘了，金茂大厦可是现在上海离天堂最近的地方。

我和我太太一起去过上海的金茂大厦，也一起在纽约的世贸中心的顶楼看过1997年7月4日晚上在Hudson河上的焰火。不过我们没有一起去过帝国大厦，所以我们总在说还要一起去纽约。
玉国兄一个人去帝国大厦，难以感觉到任何震撼不奇怪，因为这毕竟不是An Affair to Remember。下次吧！
