I am calling your attention to a forthcoming YOUTUBE video with the above title given by Professor Max Li live at the Greater Boston Chinese Cultural Association (GBCCA) on 4/8/2026 to a non technical Chinese American audiencei n the Chinese dialect, MANDARIN. I learned a lot from the lecture even being a technical person from adjacent fields. Thus here are my learning experience for the readers of ScienceNet China of my blog and to urge those of you who understands Masndarin to watch for the original live lecture on YOUTUBE when it becomes available. Of course I am responsible for any errors of interpretation here (This blog article is being copied to the organizer as well as Prof. Max Li who can correct any errors of mine in the comment sections below this article)

The PAST Starting in the 1950s, the technology of AI has grown tremendously. Nowadays, AI via tools such as CHATGPT  resembles a SUPER BRAIN that understands natural language and can answer all human questions most knowledgibly and efficiently. But despite this ability on very rare occasions, it still can make mistakes which it will correct itself as the brain grow. Tools such as GOOGLE or WIKIPEDIA fit this description (i.e. Unlike social media they can be trusted in general but very occasionally wrong. They do correct themselves as they grow.)

THE PRESENT: It is more like "Super Brain with hands" . In other words, if you interact with them and give them permission, they can access your keyboard and do task for you. For example, they can send individualized e-mail on your behalf to say 1000 addresses fitting certain specifications you specify in your e-mail list without any effort on your part. If you have to address such e-mails yourself, then it can be a very large task. There are tools like OPEN CLAW, Gemini el at one can use to save time and automate tasks. This I learned for the first time.

THE FUTURE: The speaker here liken his prediction to "Super Brain with Hands and Feet" - In other words it is physical AI or Robotics of the future. Physical AI will be able to help you in various human task we now do. For example, driverless car, guiding blind people in walking in natural enviropnment. Experimental version of such cars or smart cane for the blind are already begin to appear.

Some people are already begin to speculate that human beings and civilizations may only be a transitional  phase in intellectual development in the universe. We can be replaced !!! (however, I am not worried nor it seems to the speaker. We all will be long dead when and if that happens.)
