Last year we wrote about this holiday family get together.   http://blog.sciencenet.cn/blog-1565-1016825.html This year all 13 of us made it and had a grand time.

Two noteworthy events during this holiday were the realization how  technologically behind my wife and I have become. First, for unknown  reason, my old fashioned flipback cell phone became locked out my phone account. Second, my wife’s fitbit wrist watch stopped working.  Although both the phone and watch company provide on line  and written instructions for fixing such troubles, we cannot follow the  instruction successfully. So when our children arrived this holiday we  prevailed on them to help. But they were not successful either (they are in their fifties now). So it is finally our grandchildren, who are all young adults, fixed these  technological problems for us. We are literally two generations behind time! And yet both my wife and I and our children are highly educated  persons. The societal implications of this  small incident seem enormous!

On a happier note, all 13 of the 3 generation family were together as shown in the below photo.
