1. There are certain amount of over-confidence among Hillary supporters due to media reports uniformly favoring Clinton
2. My dark suspicion of polling (see note added in http://blog.sciencenet.cn/home.php?mod=space&uid=1565&do=blog&id=1013720)
3. In the immigrant generation, first time voter tends to vote Republican (http://blog.sciencenet.cn/blog-1565-820046.html)
4. The angry middle class seeing their American Dream disappearing due to relative lack of education, technological advances, and globalization want a change.
5. Asian Americans want the Supreme Court to over-turn affirmative action so that their children can get into Ivy League colleges easier. A Republican president will have chance to appoint at least one or up to three conservative SC judges in the next four years.
6. Trump will be a one term president (my bold prediction in four years):
a. He is wealthy and has done the impossible. What is left there to prove? Why not retire to his Florida mansion and enjoy life.
b. He will be 75 years old in 2020. The oldest ever to run for president
c. There are 12 women Democratic senators ready to challenge him in 2020. Why risk revenge and be humiliated the next time.
d. Like all new presidents, he will have successes and failures in the next four years. Many of his campaign promises cannot be realized. Voters will be able to judge his records. He won’t have it as easy next time.
7. “The US general election makes me proud to be an American” – Chuk Todd, NBC-TV News anchor
