Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunities in South Africa

Option 1:NRF Innovation Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

 

NRF is inviting applications for NRF Innovation Postdoctoral Research Fellowships.  The Fellowships are open to bonafide South African citizens and permanent residents with Doctoral degrees.  All applicants must have graduated less than five years ago in natural science or engineering or technology aligned with technology missions and frontier programmes of the Department of Science and Technology.

         

The value of the Fellowship is R200 000 per annum, exclusive of R15 000 institutional commitment.  In addition each fellow may access a maximum of R40 000 for international study visits of conference presentations, and up to R15 000 for local conference attendance within the two-year period.

 

The closing date for applications is 31st January 2011. 

 

Option 2: NRF Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

 

NRF iis inviting applications for NRF Postdoctoral Research Fellowships from candidates who would like to pursue postdoctoral research training in all areas of Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) and in Social Sciences and Humanities, in South African and abroad.

 

The value of the Fellowship is R120 000 per annum for postdoctoral research conducted in South Africa and US$  16 500 for postdoctoral research training abroad.  Recipients of the fellowship may apply for a once-off mobility grant of R5 000. 

 

The closing date for applications is 31st January 2011.
