Something about the life in US

I arrived in US with W on Jan 17, 2010. I anticipated to lots of surprise, it did, but a little less than my imagination. The city W studies in is College Station in Texas, it is said that everything is bigger in Texas for its large domain. However, my first impression was the shorter houses and faster buses while comparing to Beijing. It seems that ther is little 10 floors or more building here. People live in the two floors department usually, or house if they can afford one. The vehicle, however, run at a high speed ( I don't know the exact data) as they do in the high speed way in Beijing.
Things become more intuitive when I come up to the daily life, such as shopping, study and so on. I have been to two supermarkets since then. One is the HEB, the biggest food supermarket in Texas, the other is the Chinese food market( or Asia food market more exactlly). You can afford everything in HEB if you want to. Nothing is too cheap or too expensive. It cost us about 6 dollar for a olay face cleaner while three tomatoes cost the same money. The industrial products are as expensive as agricultural ones. As to the study life, I have only got some information about the libary in TAMU. The media in China once implied us about the open and degenerated life style of young Amrican. In fact, it is not true, or partly biased. Because lots of people study hard here, and you can seldom find a hand-in-hand couple here, W said it was so conservative in Texas.
