In a weakly solvating solvent of fluorinated phosphate (1.0 mol/L), overwhelming bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide anions are involved in the K+primary solvation sheath with prevailing ion pairs and aggregates. The desirable anion-derived interphase is pursued, which facilitates the flattening of K plating with high reversibility, enables the high-efficiency K+ insertion into graphite, and enhances the electrochemical window of the electrolyte with the inhibition of the aluminum substrate dissolution. In this work, finite element modeling incorporating the Oyane failure criterion was used to simulate and validate microcrack initiation and propagation in silicon-based anodes, linking computational results to experimental scanning electron microscopy observations. This approach provides a pathway to optimize microstructural designs for enhanced performance and durability in lithium-ion batteries.
