We have edited some
abstracts for a journal (28 abstracts so far) and may do so for this and
other journals in future, and we have been offered payments for such editing.
It is true that we said that we would offer free abstract editing, but we didn’t
anticipate editing for journals. Now, these journals want to pay, and in the mean time some people want us to edit more than just abstracts… So, I am
considering playing the role of a match-maker: taking payments from journals,
putting them into an e-bank account, and using them for authors who cannot
afford to hire a freelancer to edit their manuscripts.
Yes, it will be difficult to decide who gets free editing of a whole manuscript using the limited fund in the account. I would suggest that manuscripts related to environmental problems have the priority. What do you think?
