A friend of mine recently sent me the following headlines in two Chinese Scientific Journal  and its translations

These are two examples of the problem with word-by-word translation of Chinese text and the embarrassing results. (Note: the word “FUCK”ｉ(性交) 
is consider to be the so-called four letter dirty word in English. The 
more polite Chinese translation is “他媽的”  It is not allowed to be spoken
on American television. It is not even listed in the Webster II University
Dictionary. I wonder how the translators found the word and his intention
in using it.
