CasaBlanca – a 77 year old movie
Yesterday, I was watching accidentally an old movie which was the best movie on the American film Institute 100 all time great cinemas list. The movie story was about World War II, about Love, and about human relations. Although at the time it was made and first came out I was in China and too young to have seen it. But I did live through the times and saw the movie soon afterwards for its re-runs and several times over on television. Much of the dialog of the movie have become American clichés for people young and old who have never seen the film or don’t realize the origin of clichés such as , “Here’s looking at you, kid”, “This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship” and other even longer quotes.
Nor can I adequately convey the feelings I experienced once more as I watched the movie again anticipating almost all the dialogs. Nostalgia cannot be shared unfortunately. But I highly recommend everyone to read the article below (written 2 years ago):
