For new readers and those who request to be “好友 good friends” please read my 公告栏 first
it was nice to remember in the depth of December . . . . .
This was the opening verse of a popular 1950s song depicting reminisces by a person at the ending stage of life about the wonderful memories s/he accumulated. This is exactly how my wife and I feel these days every night sitting together after dinner in the twilight savoring whatever remaining days we have on earth – secure, satisfied, with successful and independent children and few regrets .
We are grateful to our parents for providing us the chance early in our life to venture out on our own (my wife at 19 and I at 16); America for providing the freedom and opportunities for us to go as far as our efforts and education can carry us; and our children for giving us no pain but pleasure in our old age. This Fall we will celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary and a grand family reunion. What more can two people ask?
