The Lobsters from New England states of the US are world famous.. In  the Far East, NE lobsters are expensive delicacies. I remember once seeing NElobsters being served in an expensive HK restaurant by waiters wearing tuxedo in ceremonial style. However, because of abundance, middle class people in the US, particularly in local area, can still afford to have them. This is no longer true. A front page article in the Boston newspaper yesterday headlines the fact that a lobster sandwich in Boston area has hit the astronomical price of $49.00 (or RMB 300+). What is the reason for this? Apparently High demand from China has caused a shortage of lobster supply.  In typical Chinese fashion, serving NE lobster at meals is a status symbol among the newly riches of China. Science net readers, please enlighten me as to the cost of having lobsters in China these days.
