对于本人和很多英文水平不是很高的网友来说，用英文写论文时，经常不知如何表述。

过去我采取的做法是，把想到的多种表述输入到google中，看哪一种出现频率高，哪一种就留下来。比如，Models of the Mechanisms Underlying ..，Models on the Mechanisms of ..等不同表述方式。用加上“”，输入google，出现次数多的就是全世界讲英语的人更倾向于使用的方式。

但这样做偶尔会出问题，就是无法区分专业习惯和日常用语。我们的一篇论文中曾有句子被审稿人批评太口语化，不适合在学术论文中出现。

最近，Springer出版集团推出了Exemplar （http://www.springerexemplar.com/index.aspx）。这是从学术论文中查找。比如说，intron gain是否可以用复数。用intron gains查询到104条。用户可以进一步限定期刊和领域，像上面的词条，我们可以限定Evolutionary biology这一类，以便你查找符合进化生物学这一特定领域研究人群习惯的表述方式。

目前还是免费。我不是他们公司的，也不知道日后是否会收费。如果收费了，不用它了。但它启发我们，用google scholar代替google，查询出的结果更接近专业学术习惯。
