Microbiota and Immune System: Crosstalk and Clinical Implications
背景描述
This special issue, curated by hLife, delves into the nuanced relationships between microbiota and the immune system across various host organs, including the gut, skin, lungs, etc. Microbiota are essential for the proper training and development of the host’s immune system. However, disruptions in these critical interactions can precipitate a range of immune-mediated disorders and diseases, such as inflammatory conditions, autoimmune pathologies, and susceptibility to infections. The primary objective of this publication is to deepen the scientific and clinical understanding of the dynamic crosstalk between microbiota and the immune system under both stable and perturbed conditions. By exploring these connections, this issue aims to uncover potential pathways for groundbreaking therapeutic innovations that could transform treatment paradigms. This issue warmly invites contributions in various forms, including original research articles that present new data, comprehensive reviews that synthesize existing knowledge, insightful perspectives that propose new theories, and letters to the editor that debate current views. Commentaries that highlight significant advances or emerging issues in this field are also encouraged. Through this collaborative and interdisciplinary platform, this issue seeks to illuminate the complex interactions that underlie the microbiota-immune interface, enhancing our capacity to manipulate these systems for better health outcomes.
主题
• Impact of Microbiota on Immune Development: Exploring how bacteria, fungi, viruses, etc., influence the host's innate or adaptive immune system under homeostasis conditions.
• Mechanisms of Microbiota-Immune Dysregulation: Detailed examination of how microbiota-immune interactions contribute to diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiometabolic disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, neuronal disorders, cancer, etc.
• Environmental Influences: Investigating how external factors such as climate, pollution, and lifestyle affect microbiota-immune system interactions.
• Advanced Genomic and Metabolomic Techniques: Utilizing AI-driven models, high-throughput sequencing, and other advanced technologies to study microbiota-immune system dynamics.
• Development of Therapeutic Strategies: Innovating new treatments that target microbiota-immune system interactions for various diseases.

投稿指南
Please submit your paper through our online submission system. All papers will be peer-reviewed. The submission deadline is January 31, 2025. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together. Research articles, review articles, letters, commentaries as well as perspectives are invited.
hLife adopts format-freesubmission. Format-free submission means that, provided you include everything necessary for review and using a consistent citation format, you can submit your paper without needing to worry about formatting your manuscript to meet hLife’s requirements.
Please state in the cover letter that your submission is for the special section of “microbiota and immune system”. Article Publishing Charges (APCs) for accepted papers of hLife will be free before 2025.
