An Imperfect Man But a True American Hero and Patriot

For the past week, the whole nation was pre-occupied with the passing of John McCain and the ceremonies honoring him. Because of his illustrious military service and political stature, praises came in from all corners of the nation. The ceremonies in his home state, Arizona, and in the nation’s capital rival those reserved for passing presidents. I was particularly impressed by the thousands of military men and women in full dress uniform under triple digit summer heat who stood along the route and at the airport for hours to show their respect. The high point for me was when I thought the perfect farewell song to play at the service should be my own favorite – the song MY WAY sang by Frank Sinatra https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=6E2hYDIFDIU . Sure enough, it was played at the conclusion of the memorial service which brought tears to me as I watch the broadcast. It is fitting that the Senator disinvited President Trump but instead asked his two rivals, Presidents Bush and Obama, who defeated the Senator in his two runs for the presidency to say Eulogies.
