新闻中有一句“维护科学文献完整性的承诺”。感觉这里的“完整性”一定是英文中的“integrity”，但是这句话里的“完整性”显然又不符合中文要表达的意思。

“integrity”在词典中有三个最主要的意思，一个是指人在道德上很高的操守、正直、诚实、诚信（Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code）；另一个意思是指事物的完整、未被破坏（The state of being unimpaired; soundness）；第三个意思是统一、未被分离（The quality or condition of being whole or undivided; completeness）。

“integrity”第一个意思一般用于指人，如：爱词霸有两个例句如下：1、The key to integrity is consistency- not only setting high personal standards for oneself (honesty, responsibility, respect for others, fairness) but also living up to those standards each and every day.（诚信的关键是一致性--不仅为自己设定高的个人标准（诚实、责任、尊重他人、公平），而且每天都要遵守这些标准。）2、One who has integrity is bound by and follows moral and ethical (道德上的) standards even when making life's hard choices, choices which may be clouded by stress, pressure to succeed, or temptation（正直的人是遵循道德伦理（道德上的）标准甚至做生活的艰难的选择，这些选择可能会受到压力，成功的压力或诱惑）。

“integrity”与科学或科学文献搭配时，如“scientific integrity”、“the integrity of the scientific literature”。这里显然是指严守科学（或科研）伦理、科学诚信、科研诚信的意思。所以，“维护科学文献完整性的承诺”宜为“维护科学文献诚信的承诺”。
