EPA, AQUA TERRA and Idaho State University have proposed (and had
accepted) a special session on BASINS at the upcoming AWRA GIS and
Water Resources conference (
http://www.awra.org/meetings/Florida2010/)
in Orlando Florida, March 2010.  The organizers have given us 4
speaking slots on BASINS in our special session. One of those will be
filled with a talk by someone from the BASINS development team, but we
would like to add 3 talks from the user community.

Would you like to present your work at this conference in our special
session?  If so, will you please submit your abstract this week to the
conference? The deadline is this Friday. In your submission, just
indicate that you are submitting to the special session on BASINS.
Also, please notify me so that we can keep track of the BASINS related
abstracts.

If you have attended this conference in the past then you know that it
is a great opportunity to see a variety of interesting presentations
on work at the intersection of GIS and Water Resources. It is only
held every two years so if you miss 2010, then you'll have to wait for
2012 for the next one. So I recommend going if you have any interest
in all in both GIS and Water Resources.

Also, later the same week (also in Orlando) will be the 1st
International MapWindow GIS Users and Developers Conference with
workshops on building plug-ins for MapWindow and using various
developer and end user tools from the project. If you are interested
in learning how to write plugins that work with BASINS, then please
try to come to this meeting as well
(
http://www.mapwindow.org/conference/2010). We'd love to see you
there!
