I've just got a new MacBookPro from the lab recently and it is really so not stupid of macOS for computational work that I cannot appreciated that there are someone still stick on it for molecular modeling:
there is no Discoverystudio under macOS; it doesn't support middle click paste in most cases; vmd crashed when loading only one 2000 frame gromacs trjactories but it is quite OK even loading three 6000 snapshots trjactories under LinuxOS; Mplayer turned out to be the ancient version under Linux: MKV format cannot be played correctly; schrodinger even stacked there when trying to import a single PDB file; no "open in terminal" option in right click menu which is quite helpful for work; macPort need to compile gcc/xorg/qt and the like so that GUI based tools can work; . . . although it is quite nice and so called "fashion" of apple, but I really didn't find anything helpful for at least computational work.
