Huxley is a grandson of Thomas Henry Huxley (4 May 1825 – 29 June 1895) -- "Darwin's Bulldog" (“达尔文的斗犬”赫胥黎).
Hodgkin and Huxley's electrophysiological work was done on the giant axon of the Atlantic squid (Loligo pealei), which enabled them to record ionic currents as they would not have been able to do in almost any other neuron. See: 肖静宁:从神经科学的发展看实验材料选择的方法论意义(http://www.cssn.cn/news/160940.htm).
