On January 17, 2020, Beijing Metallomics Facility (BMF)was officially launched at Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Chinese Academy of Sciences. BMF (phase I) was composed of 13 institutes, universities and hospitals located in Beijing, which includes institutes from Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHEP, National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (NCNST), and Research Center of Ecology and Environmental Sciences), Universities (Tsinghua University, Peking University, Peking Union Medical University and Capital Medical University), National Institute of Metrology, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China Geological Survey, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and Beijing Chao-Yang Hospital. Professor Chunying Chen from NCNST acts as the Director-in-General of BMF while Professor Zhiyong Zhang from IHEP acts as the director of the administrative board. The secretariat is located at IHEP.
Through the combined efforts, BMF can provide different advanced techniques for metallomics study, which includes synchrotron radiation and neutron based techniques and mass spectrometry based techniques, etc. The BMF aims to promote the cooperation and communication among BMF members. Through these efforts, BMF also aims to promote the advances of metallomics study in China.
