刚刚收到任东来教授夫人吴耘老师发来JohnsHopkins  China校友Zhao Xiaoping 和Huang Yenan悼任东来唁函现在受权发布。吴耘老师在信中说：“这是中心校友的唁电，东来在中心口碑极好。中外学生都喜欢他。我和琬洁常去中心，也认识他们中的许多人。”

Dear Jipei,

Yenan and I are so sorry tohear this sad news. We just can not believe this could happen. Professor Renwas a great professor, teacher, scholar, friend and brother. We still remembervery clear the time we had together with him. We took his classes, read hisbooks and discussed with him about the US-China relations. We have learned alot from him. The class of my year (01-02) and the Beijing alumni group weretalking a lot about this heartbreaking news online/over the phone yesterday andtoday. The passing of Professor Ren is such a loss for us! We will miss him somuch!

Please send our condolencesand best regards to Professor Ren’s wife, daughter and his family. I stillremember very clear Professor Ren and his wife as scholars being on the 2002congressman delegation. I still remember very clear Professor Ren’s beautiful,lovely and tall daughter visiting Center, now she should have already graduatedfrom college.
