为什么我们应当使用Linux操作系统

英语口语课上，老外经常让在课上做几分钟脱稿演讲，这次我选了题目“Why We Should Use Linux”， 顺便贴在博客上。

            Why We Should Use Linux

We usually use Windows or Mac operating  system,  but Linux  operating system is the future.  Why?  There are sufficient reasons.

For instance, Android is an operating system based on the Linux kernel, and designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. Today, android is the most popular mobile OS.  

Linux Mint is a Linux distribution for desktop computers, based on Ubuntu or Debian Linux. It is aimed at being a"modern, elegant and comfortable operating system which is both powerful and easy to use." Now, there are  many people use it. I believe there will be more and more persons like it, use it,  get used to it and are not able to live without it.

Linux OS has lots of advantages, if you Google or Baidu it, you will find more than 20 reasons. Here, I have only selected my top 3 reasons on why we should all switch to Linux.

主要选了3个优点来说：

稳定

不用杀毒

操作系统和应用软件都是开源的、免费的、丰富的。

1. It Doesn't Crash
Linux has been time-proven to be a reliable and secure operating system. In fact, most Linux-based systems have been used as servers and embedded systems.

2. Viruses Are Few and Far Between  
So we don't have to use antivirus softwares. I have used Linux OS without antivirus program more than 3 years, and I have never encountered any problem, it really is a very satisfying operating system.

3. Free and Applications
Windows, Mac and UNIX are not free, but Linux is completely free and open source. Each Linux distribution comes with lots of application programs included. And these softwares are completely free too and very easy to use.  For instance, You can use LibreOffice and GIMP instead of Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop, respectively.  

In the last several years, I had used  Ubuntu,  Debian,  CentOS, Fedora and openSUSE Linux. Now, I usually use Linux Mint or Linux From Scratch (LFS).  All of them are very good and make me more efficient.
