I agree what Prof Zare's view about H-Index if all other ways of assessment can be comparable. I never think any of the assessments such as H-Index, citations or IP can be subjective enough to reflect the academic levels of everybody. However, when you need a method, probably you have to choose a more subjective one. That's the point really.
