We were brought up to be anything but self-centered. Right? I was. I was told to see,to listen, and to think, rather than to be seen, or to talk without thinking.

However,once in a blue moon, you have to speak, such as during an interview, during your oral presentation, etc. For many young people, the first chance to show off who they really are is to write a personal statement for college applications. It’s not too different for writing a personal statement for a master program, but it should be very different if you are going to apply to a Ph.D. program. Stay tuned.
