Dear Professor Ho
I would like to share a good news with you. On lastThursday, we have won the next generation container port competition.
In the project, we have worked with a Chinese company ZPMCand Shanghai Maritime University.
The details of the award can be seen in the news below.
I think the main reason we are able to win is because wecan integrate many design concepts together and eventually present a harmonizedsystem. There are in total 56 teams participate in the competition, and most ofthem are equipment manufacturers and consulting firms which work together withhigher learning institutes. Among them 7 teams are shortlisted. We need todefense our concept before the judges (5 CEOs and 1 director, and 1 chiefdefense scientist). During the defense day, I was asked to present on behalf ofthe whole team.
The comments from the judges are I have put up a goodperformance and they said my talk was very lively. I have put in a lot ofeffort to prepare the talk, but I have to say that without learning with you, Iwould not know giving a good presentation is so important. Moreover, fromthe Harvard days, I have also learned on how to see things more holisticallyand how to integrate ideas. These have been very important even though they arenot that tangible. (note added by blogger:see my often used quote in On ideas, writing, and presentationhttp://blog.sciencenet.cn/blog-1565-5442.html “I cannot teach you how to be smart, but I can surely teach you how to write, speak, and present yourself well”)
Once again, thank you Professor Ho and I would like toshare my joy and honor with you.
Best regards
LH
