1999年11月21日 (星期日)   天多云，11-17C

    今天这里气温与昨天相当，但湿度增加， 北京-2- 11C，上海9-19C，哈尔滨-1 - 6C。6:40-7:30AM晨练只见两人遛狗,我走从Harvard Rd-Concord Ave-Hewley St.-Cahtterton Pkwy Av.线。在我们家斜对门有两颗依然保持鲜红色彩的枫叶树，落叶比其他同类树要少，我取下标本叶6枚放在The Government of United States一书的R36-37上。

    10:00-11:00AM,我们全家四人在Chatterton Hill附近散步,欣赏各种民宅建筑和园林布局。接着驾车去First Union去取款，去Apple Farm去采购蔬菜，共24种，32.95$,相比之下这里的价格还是比较便宜的，去 Golder Village  suppermarket去退还租用的《百万富豪》录像带（每次1元）回到家里已经12:30分钟了。

   今天中午吃饺子，这在美国还是头一回，尝尝中国特色菜，转过来想，与其吃台湾人做的中国饺子，还不如自己做来得正宗。于是萌发自己包饺子的想法。

今天给妈妈发出第三封信。全天抽时间在网上，继续看有关WTO的材料（见C:\annian\data\wto991118.doc）以及有关网络书籍和知识的文章。J给我看福布斯（Forbes）杂志1999年11月19日一期刊登的ORACLE提供的一篇有关网络经济的宣传性文章,The e-business Transformation from CFO to CEO, Finance in an Internet Economy。文章提到Sun Microsystems是一家拥有$11.5 billion Co. 为全球150个国家提供服务。文章引用Jeff Henley, Executive Vice President and CFO, Oracle Corporation的话:Iarge companies and entrie industries will from electronic business communities. If you’re not connected, you wan’t survive and thrive.”文章分四部分:Capitalizing an Global Opportunities; Driving Enterprise Profitability; Building a Smarter Business; Compate or Get Beat.文章强调:Sun’s dot.com momentum underscores the key role of an organization’s finance department in bringing about business change.   The internet challenge old processes and inspires finance to find efficiencies and cost savings where thwy didn’t, and couldn’t, exist before.   “We plan to extend the reach of strategic information beyond the boundaries of the corporate headquarters, and put it in the hands of key field managers.”—Marilyn Nelson, Chairman and CED, Carlson Companies.

There are many sub categories in the H-Net. One is H-USA www.h-net.msu.edu/~usa. Another may be interesting to you is H-Asia. There are always heated debate in the latter.
