the “Magnesium-based Biodegradable Implants” at The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society (TMS) 2016 Annual Meeting
The TMS Annual Meetings attract several thousand participants each year, and the 2016 Annual Meeting will take place in Nashville, Tennessee from February 14th to the 18th. This meeting will be divided into more than 60 symposia that cover myriad topics in materials science and engineering. The technical program for the 2016 Annual Meeting may be found at: http://goo.gl/CEhLQE.
For the coming 2016 meeting, both the TMS Magnesium and Biomaterials Committees have combined efforts to organize the above mentioned international symposium. The inaugural edition of this symposium was held at the TMS 2013 Annual Meeting, and was a runaway success. Other papers presented at this symposium in 2016 are anticipated to cover all classes of magnesium-based absorbable implants, including cardiovascular, orthopedic, and emerging implant applications. Specific focus areas are anticipated to include alloy selection and development, in vitro and in vivo corrosion, and magnesium-based medical device design/certification.
We anticipate that this symposium will last two days (four sessions). The short duration of the symposium will limit podium presentations to only the highest-quality submissions.
