Complementing the STM/S and the traditional PES(UPS, XPS) techniques, this method collects and purifies atomistic, local, and quantitaive information of bond length, bond energy, local energy density, and atomic coesive energy associated with ill-coordinated atoms such as adatoms, terrace edges, defects, monolayer skins, nanostructures of various shapes, impurities, alloys, and interfaces.
