图书情报学院是否应当有新的增长点?

在2012年第1期的JASIST上发表的《Intellectual Diversity and the Faculty Composition of iSchools》,分析了2009年21家ischool的网站,发现:在所研究学院中计算机科学占有重要比重,但同时多样性(diversity)与跨学科性(Interdisciplinarity)也发挥着重要作用,并且各个学院各具特色。该项研究建议iSchools将更倾向于通过引进新的人才领域(intellectual areas )来发现有价值的新视角来源,从而获得成长;同时应继续珍惜他们借以成功的传统领域的重要贡献。
该文主要分析了各个iSchool教师的博士学位,以及2007-2009教师数量的变化等,重要数据如下:
